Advent greetings to you..."blessed is He who COMES in the name of the Lord!"
(Before worship Sunday you might take a few minutes to ponder the words of
some of our great Advent hymns #55 - 75.)
THANKS to Kim Shervey & all those who volunteered at Create-A-Gift 03.
There were at least 383 Non-Members present, 82 of which were first-time
visitors! Pray for follow-up and a return visit.
SUNDAY'S a-comin'. Check out these readings:
+Isaiah 64:8-9
+Genesis 1:24-31
+Ephesians 2:10
How humbling & exhilerating it is to know we're God's workmanship!
HOSANNA has been working hard to prepare their Christmas musical for us.
Plan to take in "Star Journey" Wed at 7 pm. Refreshments following.
Here's an insight from CS Lewis that fits in well with this season:
"Non-Christians seem to think that the Incarnation implises some particular
merit or excellence in humnaity. But of course it implies just the reverse:
a particular demerit or depravity. No creature that deserves Redemption
would need to be redeemed. That that are whole need not the physician.
Christ died for men precisely because men are NOT worth dying for; to make
them worth it." -- from: The World's Last Night
Shalom,
Pastor Mark
