Dear ones,
I don't know for how much longer, but right now the LUTHER movie is right
here at Clackamas Town Center 3 times per day...and well worth taking in.
Popcorn and Reformation...what a combination!
In case you missed them, NEW ADULT CLASSES kicked off last Sunday. Besides
The Lord's Prayer, The Kingdom of God, Faith 102 and Extracting the
Precious, I want to mention YOUR PERSONALITY TREE, an excellent study
building on our year's focus on Humility, that is, learning about how God
has "wired" us; Brad Owens is leading it. There's also MAKING THE MOST OF
YOUR MARRIAGE, an uplifting series featuring Kevin Leman, facilitated by the
Cdebacas.
Take time to look at SUNDAY'S READINGS--
*Col. 1:15-18...Everything that is flows from one source & exists for one
purpose
*Ex. 15:1-11...Wouldn't you like to know somebody really strong who could
help you out?
*Matt. 28:16-20...What would the "Go & make disciples" be without "I am
always with you"?
Be planning now to attend & bring a friend to the Arlen Salte WORSHIP
CONCERT Sunday, the 16th at 6 pm at BSLC.
THANKSGIVING DAY WORSHIP (10 am) is coming up. The thank offering that day
will go to local caring ministries. It will be preceded by the annual MEN'S
BREAKFAST...fellas, be watching for info on that.
As you know, MARRIAGE is under attack. The Federal Marriage Amendment to
the U.S. Constitution would state "Marriage in the U.S. shall consist only
of the union of a man & a woman." We can support this amendment by
contacting senators & reps to express our sentiments. Ph #'s, their mailing
& e-mail addresses are available at www.senate.gov and www.house.gov .
It's also worthwhile to check out Dr. Dobson's insights at
www.family.org/docstudy/newsletters/a0027590.html .
Here are some thoughts on MARRIAGE from Dr. Martin Luther:
"This is a true definition of marriage: Marriage is the God-appointed and
legitimate union of man and woman in the hope of having children or at least
for the purpose of avoiding fornication and sin and living to the glory of
God. The ultimate pupose is to obey God, to find aid and counsel against
sin; to call upon God; to seek, love and educate children for the glory of
God; to live with one's wife in the fear of God and to bear the cross; but
if there are no children, nevertheless to live with one's wife in
contentment; and to avoid all lewdnewss with others."
Serving the Lord with gladness,
Pastor Mark
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so
that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." - Rom.
