Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Tomorrow is a great opportunity to gather to THANK GOD for His many blessing
to us. We'll gather at 10 am. Entire offering goes to need-meeting
ministries, unless otherwise designated. "Giving thanks is one course from
which we never graduate." - V. Anders
"We should be thankful for our tears; they prepare our eyes for a clearer
vision of God." - W.A. Ward
SUNDAY is the first Sunday in ADVENT, a season in which we encounter the
Christ who COMES to us...as a baby, as a prophet, as a conquering King. See
if you can guess Sunday's focus.
++Jer. 18.1-6
++1 Thess. 3.9-13
++Luke 21.25-36 (the text for the message of the day)
CREATE-A-GIFT is only 10 days away. I hate to say it, but there really is a
need for happy helpers. Plz be in touch with Kim Shervey if you can help.

Something to think about:
"The gospel is never for individuals but always for a people. Sin fragments
us, separates us, and sentences us to solitary confinement. Gospel restore
us, unites us, and sets us in community. The life of faith revealed and
nurtured in the biblical narratives is hightly personal but never merely
individual: always there is a family, a tribe, a nation--church. God's
love and salvation are revealed and experienced in the congregation of the
people 'who know the festal shout' (Ps. 89.15), not in 'the garden
lone.'" -- from a book called Reversed Thunder: The Revelation of John &
the Praying Imagination by EH Peterson.
Thankfully yours,
Pastor Mark
