Hello friends,
Ethel and I had a terrific visit to both our families in Wisconsin last
week...great visiting, great eating, safe travel, beautiful sites. We're
thankful.
This SUNDAY we're going to continue the message of last week, focusing on
"How to Walk in the Dark", based on Isa 50:10b. The worship survey we took
a few weeks ago indicated that 1.8% of the respondents prepare for worship
by reading the Bible portions before worship (I'm not making this up),
so...for the 1.8% (and whoever else might want to), here are Sunday's
readings...... :)
++++Psalm 130...out of the depths
++++James 3:16-4:6...wisdom
++++Mark 9:30-37...be a servant
ADULT CHOIR will be shifting over from Wednesdays to SUNDAY evenings,
beginning this Sunday, 6:30-8:00 pm. This provides a great opportunity for
you to use the vocal gift God has given you, experience fellowship with
others, and serve the Lord and His people. Vicki Knutsen can answer any
questions you might have.
I finally got to see the LUTHER movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. It
captured the drama and tension of those momentuous days and has a nice,
clear articulation of the precious Gospel. Well worth taking in...take a
friend with you. It might not be around long, so I recommend you seize the
opportunity.
Don't forget the upcoming benefit CONCERT of the talented pianist Michael
Allen Harrison at BSLC Sunday, Nov 2 at 3pm. Proceeds go to Daybreak
Shelter Network.
Here's a prayer from Francis of Assisi.....
++++++O Most High, Glorious God, enlighten the darkness of my heart and give
me a right faith, a certain hope and a perfect love, understanding and
knowledge, O Lord, that I may carry out your holy and true command.
Amen++++++++++
Blessings 2U,
Pastor Mark
