Hello friends,

It was a joy & delight to experience the "giving away" of our daughter Rena
to her new husband, Brent, a fine Christian man. We give thanks to God for
His faithfulness. And...I finally have a son(in-law)! :) Somebody named
Robert Quillen said, "A happy marriage is the union of two good forgivers."
I agree.

Looking ahead to SUNDAY...

1. Check out these SCRIPTURE READINGS:
	*Jeremiah 10.23-25
	*Amos 5.6-7, 10-15
*Mark 10.17-27 (The message will be based on this one, especially.)

2. NEW CLASSES for adults begin this Sunday:
	*Prayer class with Pastor Pete
	*Making the Most of Marriage
	*Your Personality Tree
	*The Kingdom of God
*Extracting the Precious (Women's Bible Study)
	*Faith 102

3. Don't forget the BENEFIT CONCERT (for Daybreak Shelter Network)
featuring pianist Michael Allen Harrison at 3 pm.

Here are some insights on PRAYER from EH Peterson in his book on Revelation
called "Reversed Thunder".

"Prayer is as much outer as inner. It is the most practical thing anyone
can do. It is not mystical escape, it is historical engagement. Prayer
participates in God's action. God gathers our cries and our praises, our
petitions and intercessions, and uses them. The prayers that ascended to
God now descend to earth. God uses our prayers in his work, 'Prayer,' wrote
Pascal, 'is God's way of providing man with the dignity of causality.'"
(Peterson's comments above are based on Rev. 8.3-5.)

Yours and His,
Pastor Mark
