Hello BSLC friends!

Here’s a prayer I found for this coming Sunday:
 Stir up your power, O Lord, and come among us with great might; and because
we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy
speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen

Sunday approaches. Please take some time to look at

*	Isaiah 7.10-14
*	Romans 1.1-7
*	Matthew 1.18-25

Christmas Worship Schedule
*	3:30 Children/Family
*	5:15 Candlelight
*	7:00 Candlelight
*	No Christmas Day worship

These days are becoming a series of “lasts” for me
last DTS class, last SS
class, last visit to homebound, last Preschool Christmas Program, etc. It
certainly is a strange feeling after all these years. I’m looking forward
to Sunday’s “Going Away Celebration” (as one person called it
which I
thought was a humorous way to put it) only because it’s always great to be
with you, my brothers and sisters.  Just FYI, this isn’t my “last Sunday”;
that will be December 26th.

I read the following this morning in Lloyd Ogilvie’s God’s Best for My Life:

“Many people spend the month of December buying, wrapping, decorating, and
preparing for the festivities of the holidays but are not ready for a
transforming Christmas, nor free to experience its real impact for all of
life
.It’s possible to celebrate Christmas and miss Christmas! Imagine a
time around the Christmas tree in which you opened all your presents except
those from one particular person. Feel the hurt of that rejection. Look at
it from God’s point of view. What do you think He wants to give you?
Picture Him waiting for you to open and enjoy His gift
.The heart of
Christmas is the heart. God’s heart in Christ offered to you and me. The
most tragic thing which could happen is to go through the Christmas season
and never open and accept the gifts of love, joy, hope, and peace which flow
from His heart to ours!”

In His love,
Pastor Mark
