Greetings in Jesus' name!

In a book with the funny title of AquaChurch author Leonard Sweet writes the
following:

"Christianity is a relationship religion.  The core relationship is a
relationship with Christ.  Everything depends on the administration and
management of that relationship.  However, some of us are more careful about
maintaining and managing relationships with our pets than our relationships
with Jesus, God-made flesh."

Sunday's a-comin'.  Have you ever tried fasting?  Check out these readings
and come prepared for worship.

*	Matthew  6.16-17

If you missed taking the Spiritual Gifts Inventory last Sunday, copies will
be available at the Welcome Center.  Please fill it out and turn it in.  We
have quite a stack  of completed ones from last Sunday.  Thanks!  (Results
will be forthcoming.)

I understand there still is a need for folks to sign up to serve (either
periodically or regularly) in the Nursery.  Might this be a ministry
opportunity with your name on it?

I recently jotted down names of people from our fellowship who are praying
for jobs, and was surprised that there were 14 on my list.  Let's be praying
for these brothers and sisters!

Something to think about:

Vaclav Havel, the Czech poet/President, experienced years of oppression and
persecution under Communist rule.  He later observed:  "I am not an
optimist, because I am not sure that everything ends well.  Nor am I a
pessimist, because I am not sure everything ends badly.  I just carry hope
in my heart....Life without hope is an empty, boring and useless life.  I
cannot imagine that I could strive for something if I did not carry hope in
me.  I am thankful to God for this gift.  It is as big a gift as life
itself."
