"Fat Tuesday" Greetings!
Tomorrow (Ash Wednesday) begins Lent 2004. Soup & Bread Supper beginning at
6 pm. Worship (including Imposition of Ashes and Communion) at 7 pm.
* And...consider using the Lenten Devotional booklet: "The Reality of
God's Love" put out by The Lutheran Hour (an envelope is included in the
booklet to send a contribution to that fine ministry).
Saturday is the Stephen Series Caring Ministry Workshop. Over 100 people
from around the state are already registered. It's free to BSLC folks 'cause
we're hosting it. Neat tips on Ministering to Those Experiencing Grief and
How to Care in a Distinctively Christian Way. Hours are 9 to 1.
Sunday we gather as a family to worship and meet with our King. Prepare
your heart by visiting...
* Hosea 12:7-8
* Proverbs 11:24-25
* Luke 12:13-21
Also Sunday, the PRC Baby Bottles are due back. In addition to pocket
change, it's quite alright to include paper money or a check. It's a worthy
ministry to support!
In addition, new Growth Opportunities for Adults begin this Sunday at 9:45
am.

A Correction: Last week I gave you an incorrect link for you to take the
Spiritual Gifts Inventory. If you have not yet taken it, just go to
www.bslc.com <http://www.bslc.com> and follow the easy directions from
there. Results will be returned to you.
And speaking of helpful websites, I want to direct you to a Bible-based site
that give practical advice for parents and realistic ways to improve
marriages. You can also click on "Ask Dr. Ludwig" personal questions. (He
was a prof of mine in college & is a really neat guy.) See

<http://www.thinkwenotme.com/parent.html> or

To think about:
"It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin
its leverage, its destructive power. But now in a single victorious stroke
of Life, all three-sin, guilt, death-are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus
Christ. Thank God! With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends,
stand your ground. And don't hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of
the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or
effort." - 1 Cor. 15 from The Message
Gifted in Him,
Pastor Mark
