Hello friends!
I hope you were able to enjoy the "Epiphany 2004 Storm" this week. (Tuesday
was Epiphany.) Things are melting at church, so there shouldn't be any
problem this Sunday. "...Wash me and I will be whiter than snow." - Ps.
51:7
This Sunday is MISSIONS SUNDAY with over 10 mission-related organizations
having displays and representatives present. During the adult Bible class
hour you will be able to attend 3 15 minute sessions with different
organizations of your choice. It'll be fun & informative! Kids SS classes
will be starting up at 9:45 am. Bible readings for the day will be:
* Ezekiel 3:17-19
* Acts 10:30-33
* Revelation 8:1-5
Sunday afternoon at 3 pm, there'll be another benefit concert for Daybreak
Shelter featuring choirs from 6 churches + the Trinity Trio. Location:
Gethsemane Lutheran, 115th & Market. Freewill offering.
Due to the weather, we're moving the start-up day for WEDNESDAY classes to
this coming week. In addition to Hosanna, Powerline, and Eyewitness,
there'll be the following great growth opportunities for adults:
* Divorce Recovery Support Group-a completely new offering for
divorced and separated
* Ephesians-Pastor Chuck will be back with us
* 1st & 2nd Samuel-Jim Eller leading a study of the life & times of
King David
* Moms Group-Dora Morrison encouraging moms of all ages
* Women's Discipler Bible Study-Eunice MacKenzie leading a look at
Amos
* Reasons for Believing-Aaron Hues & myself sharing how to respond to
common objections to Christianity
Great new Sunday learning opportunities for adults will begin on January
18th. I'll give those to you next week.
Here's some questions to ponder as we begin a new year. They're from
Christian author John Maxwell:
* What areas of my thinking do I need to change?
* What beliefs to I hold that hold me back?
* What expectations hinder my personal growth?
* What attitudes hurt my success?
* What behavioral areas must I change to give me a boost?
* What things are keeping me from peak performance?
"I trust in your unfailing love;
My heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
For he has been good to me."
- Psalm 13:5 -
In His grip,
Pastor Mark
