Greetings! God is good...all the time!

How refreshing to see the beautiful sunshine today.

Check out these Scripture portions for Sunday:
*	Isa. 65.11-14
*	Gal. 1.11-24
*	Luke 21.10-19 (We'll be looking at this one most closely in the
message.)

New Adult Classes continue. It's not too late to join one!

Also Sunday: Baby Bottles (to fill with loose change) will be available for
Pregnancy Resource Centers of Greater Portland. We don't have too many, so
be sure to grab one if you want to help support this very worthy ministry in
our area. They do a terrific job in a caring way & I heartily support them.

Wednesday classes continue, too, with lots of great choices. And don't
forget the worship time in the sanctuary that begins at 6:30 pm.

A real need/opportunity in our midst: For some reason people aren't signing
up to help in the Nursery. It's a great way to serve. I see the neat way
we love and support families at BSLC & this is one way we can make it
happen. It's a practical way of saying to visitors and others who bring in
their kids, "We love you and want to help you." Jodi Maas is the
coordinator & can answer your questions...503.659.1753 or maasta at aol.com
<mailto:maasta at aol.com> .

Dinners for Eight (or 7 or 9) are kicking off again in February. Singles
are very welcome; it's not just for couples. Sign up at the table Sunday.

Super Bowl Party is going to be fun on February 1...BIG screen...great
food...fun half-time. Again, please sign up Sunday. Contact Steve Sullivan
with questions or to indicate interest at ssullivan51 at yahoo.com

ready, etc.)

This morning I came across this Prayer of Stability by Gloria Hutchinson...

Brother Jesus, you have reminded me of my need to anchor my soul in a place
of prayer, a place where we can come together to worship the Father.
Free me from my restless activity, my slavery to the clock, my habit of
bobbing along on the open sea when you have called me to be still.
When I consider how you consented to enclosure in Mary's womb, in a narrow
manger, in a carpenter's home, on the wooden cross, in the bread of the
Eucharist, my heart is moved to seek enclosure with you. Amen.

Enclosed with Jesus,
Pastor Mark
