Sunny March greetings!

Tomorrow (Wed.) is our second Lenten devotional service...a great time to
get quiet and focus on God's love as evidenced in the cross. The sermon
series is focusing on a different type of prayer each week. This week's
prayer type: the Prayer of Examen (you'll have to come to find out what it
refers to). Supper starts at 6; worship at 7.

I forgot to mention the Women's Retreat last week. The sign-up deadline is
past, but maybe you can still squeeze in. Anita Eller (503.288.3429) could
tell you.

In early worship last Sunday I neglected to mention the Lenora Ball Memorial
Service that will be this Saturday at 11 a.m. A light luncheon will be
served thereafter. Lenora was Lisa Kellebrew & Barb Ball's mother.

To get a jump on next Sunday's worship, check out these Scriptures to see
what sin we'll be highlighting...
*	Acts 5.1-11
*	Hebrews 10.23-25
*	Matthew 6.9-13.

A great way to get to know others and to have your faith strengthened is to
take in Sunday Growth Opportunities for Adults. Can't remember the options?

I recently read these encouraging words in A Long Obedience by EH Peterson
(based on Psalm 121):

"No literature is more realistic and honest in facing the harsh facts of
life than the Bible. At no time is there the faintest suggestion that the
life of faith exempts us from difficulties. What it promises is
preservation from all the evil in them. On every page of the Bible there is
recognition that faith encounters troubles."

In faith,
Pastor Mark
