Hello, brothers & sisters!
Lenten services continue tomorrow at 7 pm. This week's focus is on the
"Prayer of Rest." I hope to see you there as we gather at the cross.
(Worship teams begin leading worship at 6:30 pm.)
Sunday's a-comin'... Take a moment to check out these readings. Can you
guess which sin we'll be dealing with?
* Hosea 14:3 (our confession verse)
* Jonah 4:1-11
* John 13:1-5
Don't be shy about joining up with a Sunday class; it's not too late. Over
150 adults were in class last Sunday.
Some neat opportunities coming up from our Social Concerns Team. Michael
Morrison is doing a terrific job as deacon.
* Clothing Drive-Are you cleaning out your closets for Spring?
Clothes, gathered on March 21, will go to Mexico and to local people in
need. Help is also needed to sort it & prep it on Sat, 3/27. Judy Gerton &
Patty Cormack can give you details & answer questions.
* Steps for Life is Saturday, May 15th. If you're interested in being
part of the team that will be collecting pledges for P.R.C. & walking, talk
to Mike or Shannon Morrison or myself. It'd be fun to have a team of ten or
more! (Just blip me back & I'll see that you get info.)
Here are some thoughts from Martin Luther on Christians being active in
love:
"We do not say that we are simply to think: If I believe, the matter is
settled, and I need not do anything good. No! You must do good works and
practice many of them toward your neighbor so that your faith shines
externally in life as it shines internally in your heart. Yet you should
say that this good life does not help you to salvation, for faith has
already helped you." (from a sermon preached in 1531)
Yours and His,
Pastor Mark
