Damp Spring Break Greetings!
Do you enjoy putzing around in the yard? Our first Beautification Day is
this Saturday, 9-3, with a light lunch served in the middle. It's a BYOT
(Bring Your Own Tool) Party! If you miss this Saturday, the fun will
continue on April 3.
Sunday approacheth. Take some time to look at these Scripture Readings...
* Philippians 3:8-14...This will be the sermon text (and it's well
worth memorizing!).
* Isaiah 45:16-21
* John 12:1-8
Early Communion Preparation Part 1 will be Sunday evening 6:00-7:30 p.m.
This is for any 5th-8th Graders and their parents who would like to prepare
themselves to begin receiving Holy Communion. (Part 2 will be April 4th at
the same times. Attendance at both is required.)
Have you filled out a My Passion sheet yet? There are only 4 quick
questions to respond to and your input will be prayerfully considered as we
proceed in the Vision Process. (Copies are available at the Welcome Center.)
And if you have not yet done a Spiritual Gifts Inventory, it's not too late
for that; it can be taken quickly via www.bslc.com <http://www.bslc.com> .
I've been asked to shoot up an emergency signal flare for Easter Breakfast
Help. Help is needed for food prep, serving breakfast, bussing tables, and
manning the beverage table. If you can help in any way please respond to
this (and I'll pass it along) or call the church office (503.788.7000),
leaving a message if it's after hours. This is a great one-time, easy way
to serve. We always are blessed with lots of visitors and the breakfast
says, "We celebrate our Lord's resurrection and we're glad you're here!"
Also, please be in prayer for the Gospel message to go forth in power that
day.
Here's a verse from my reading this morning. It's Romans 12:12...
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." (NIV)
"Base your happiness on your hope in Christ. When trials come endure them
patiently; steadfastly maintain the habit of prayer." (Phillips)
"Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all
times." (TEV)
"Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and
always be prayerful." (NLT)
Happy in Him,
Pastor Mark
