"May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance."

2 Thess. 3:5

Hello friends!

It's feelin' more like Fall as Summer winds down. I hope you're feeling
ready to shift gears as we move into a new season. "Time is a circus always
packing up and moving away." -Ben Hecht

Sunday cometh. It's the first Sunday of the month, so we'll be celebrating
Holy Communion* in both services. It's also the last Sunday without classes,
so you have extra time to fellowship & visit. Here are the Scripture
touchpoints upon which we focus:
*	Isaiah 66.18-23...Glory
*	Hebrews 12.18-24...Two mountains
*	Luke 13.22-30...Able to enter?

*Here's a word from Martin Luther about Communion preparation:
"Q- Who receives this sacrament worthily? A- Fasting & bodily preparation
are certainly fine outward training. But that person is truly worthy & well
prepared who has faith in these words: 'Given & shed for you for the
forgiveness of sins.' But anyone who does not believe these words or doubts
them is unworthy & unprepared, for the words 'for you' require all hearts to
believe."

New Sunday Adult Classes begin on September 12. Get ready to be stretched &
grow!

A little something for your heart from Prayers from the Heart by Richard
Foster:
"Clean out, O God, the inner stream of my life: all the duplicity, all the
avarice, all the falsity.
Search, out, O Lord, the hidden motives of my life: all the conceit, all
the anger, all the fear.
Root out, divine Master, the destructive actions of my life: all the
manipulation, all the scheming, all the guile.
May the operations of faith, hope, and love increase in everything I am and
everything I do.  Amen."

In His love,
Pastor Mark
"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every
way. The Lord be with all of you." - 2 Thess. 3:16
