Hello friends,
Here are the readings for Sunday, we'll be looking most closely at the
Gospel:
* Amos 8.4-7
* 1 Tim. 2.1-8
* Luke 16.1-13
On Sunday there will be one more opportunity to register to vote. Did you
know 7000 Vote Yes on 36 lawn signs have been stolen, vandalized, or
destroyed in the last 3 weeks? For information on this pivotal issue, check
out www.voteyeson36.org <http://www.voteyeson36.org> . I'm reminded of words
we use in the wedding ceremony: "Speak now or forever hold your peace."
Melissa shares that Pastor Pete is doing well at the Lausanne Forum in
Thailand. He was selected from the 60 people from around the world in his
work group to serve as co-convener, a great honor. So, he & the other
person will be addressing the whole gathering to share their conclusions.
Please continue to remember him in prayer.
Harvest Festival is coming up on Oct. 31. There are still opportunities to
help make it happen.
To ponder:
"As the marsh-hen secretly builds on the watery sod,
Behold I will build me a nest on the greatness of God:
I will fly in the greatness of God as the marsh-hen flies
In the freedom that fills all the space 'twixt the marsh and the skies:
By so many roots as the marsh-grass sends in the sod
I will heartily lay me a-hold on the greatness of God." -- from a poem by
Sidney Lanier
Resting in His greatness,
Pastor Mark
