Dear Family,

I am excited for quite a few reasons today.

1) Prayer is growing at BSLC. On a staff level we have felt a need for more
focus on prayer. Our weekly staff meeting now is primarily prayer and we do
all of the prayer first so that it is not rushed. Any left over time is
used to work through issues. When I meet weekly with Sean we pray until we
are all prayed out and then we use whatever time is left for the other
agenda items. I had the joy to participate in an Elders meeting in February
in which the elders spent about 2 hours just praying and worshiping. I’ve
recently heard of a church whose elders meeting begins with ½ hour of prayer
(Pastor Mark’s church in Kennewick) and another church in Michigan whose
elders meet for two hours each month. The first hour and 45 minutes is
spent in prayer and worship, the last 15 in business items. The pastor said
that they never have agenda items unfinished. How can we live out a
dependence on prayer even more?

2) I feel blessed to be a part of what God I doing in the 50 year history of
Beautiful Savior. He has done great things in the past and He is not done
yet. I am overwhelmed with the responses of people from the 40 Day
experience, especially with the small groups. I know mine has had a deep
impact for me. I am excited to see us develop a congregation wide small
group ministry. I trust God to lead us more deeply into each of the
purposes.

3) I had a great experience in my small group sharing my faith last week.
God’s Spirit is making real progress in some lives. In addition I already
have 4 meetings lined up this week with people whom God is leading to Him.
Nothing energies me like this. (This is a part of my SHAPE. I want each of
us to find that SHAPE and know the joy of ministry fit perfectly for each of
us.)

4) I was at an orientation meeting for Portland Rescue Mission/Shepherd’s
Door last night. I am really excited about the area I applied for. I’ll
let you know what it is when I get accepted! ;)

What are you excited about this week?

Upcoming -

*	Senior High 30-Hour Famine this weekend
*	Bring your baby bottles for Pregnancy Resource Center this Sunday.
*	Grab a sandwich this Sunday and help support the mission trip to
Mexico this Sunday.

***TOWN HALL MEETING***

We invite every interested member to come on Sunday March 6th (after late
service) to a Town Hall Meeting. We plan to gather together for an hour to
an hour and a ½ to share the thinking of the team working on the staffing
plan and solicit responses and input. There will be no decision made at
this meeting. This is an opportunity for everyone to have input into the
process of defining staffing at BSLC. The elders will take the input from
the meeting and bring a proposal before the congregation at out April Voters
meeting. At this time we will make a decision about a staffing plan and be
able to move ahead with looking for candidates to fill the open positions.
