OPENING DAY 2008 – May 3rd

Chance of a Lifetime!  

Join PYC’s Opening Day Parade

Receive a PYC 100th Anniversary Memento 

(Only available to PYC Parade Participants)

 

 

 

What to Expect on Opening Day:  

*      Join PYC Members and Dignitaries for Breakfast at the Club

*      Skipper’s Meeting – receive instructions and answer questions

*      Opening Day Ceremony – PYC Flagpole Area

*      Board Boats 

*      Move Boat to Columbia River (form up across from Tomahawk Bay – main
River)

*      Commodore Smith Reviews the PYC Fleet

*      Parade Starts and proceeds upriver for about 1 mile

*      PYC Fleet is released – some come back to the Club and some go to the
Outstation

 

What is Expected of You on Opening Day:

*       Boat is in “Ship Shape”

*       Fly a PYC Burgie and PYC Centennial Flag

*       Attach a Large Rose (Provided) to Starboard Side 

*       Display Red – White – Blue Pennants – see Ship’s Store

*       Keep in Formation during Parade

*        Plan to Have Lot’s of Fun!!!!

 

As your Fleet Captain, along with Commodore Smith, I encourage all members
to start planning early to participate in this year’s Opening Day. 

 

Three Things To Do This March:

 

*    1. Sign up now for the Opening Day Parade (email me or sign up at the
Club) – do not assume we know you will be there!!

 

*      2. Schedule a Vessel Safety Check (VSC)

             see VSC Article this month

*       3. Locate white pants/skirt and blue blazer … if possible
