Dear St. Monica School Families,
Below you will see the letter that will be in the parish bulletin this
weekend. We are sending it today at the request of Larry McDonald and Deacon
Warfield for anyone that may not be attending Mass here this Saturday or
Sunday. It is important that you understand what is expected to take place
at the meeting on August 24th and that you plan to attend if at all
possible. I will be present as well as all of the parish and school staff
that is available.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this difficult
time for our community.
May God bless you and those you love,
Pam Dellino
Principal

To the Parish Community of St. Monica's,
On behalf of the leadership and staff of St. Monica's Parish, we want to
extend our sincere gratitude to you for your patience and understanding
during this difficult situation. Your support and many expressions of
concern for us have been a great source of strength and for that we are so
very grateful.
Archbishop Brunett and his staff at the Chancery will be present for a
parish meeting next Friday, August 24th in the parish hall at 7:00 p.m. All
parishioners and school parents are encouraged to attend. This is a parish
community meeting in the context of prayer and dialogue. While there may be
local media present outside parish property, they will not be allowed into
the meeting and you need not feel any obligation to respond to them.
The investigation initiated by the Archdiocese is ongoing and it will not
have concluded prior to our meeting. Because the investigation is ongoing,
details regarding the allegation and the findings of the investigation
cannot be disclosed. However, this is a wonderful opportunity for us as a
community:
* to gather in prayer with our Archbishop,
* to learn more about archdiocesan policies and procedures in these
matters,
* to learn about the role of canon (Church) law,
* to gain resources for talking to our children about the situation,
and
* to dialogue with the Archbishop, his staff and one another.
This meeting will not provide the answers that all of us so desire but it is
an opportunity for us to come together, to be together in prayer and in
communion with each other and with our Archbishop. We strongly encourage
you to attend if you are able.
Again, on behalf of the leadership and staff of St. Monica's, we extend our
deepest appreciation for your patience and support.
Larry McDonald Deacon Jack Warfield
