The Mercer Island Summer Celebration! 2007 grand parade with a pirate theme
will be held on Saturday, July 14 with a start time of 10 AM in downtown
Mercer Island.  All St. Monica School students, parents, siblings,
strollers, wagons, etc. are invited to “walk & roll” with us in the 2007
Gangway Parade.  If we can get a minimum of 20 kids/parents we’ll be
marching right along with the Seafair Royalty!  Show your St. Monica School
spirit and join the parade.  If you’re available to take part in the event,
please email Jamie North (jamiekn at comcast.net) or Kelly Panelli

(mkpanelli at comacast.net) and let us know you’ll be there.  We’d love as many
kids as possible so if you’re in town – please join us!  The kids should
wear their school sweatshirts if possible!

 

The parade will kick off the 2-day street festival. Join the fun and
participate in a community parade!  Group and individual categories include:

children, community organizations, businesses, individuals in costumes,
marching teams, vintage cars, dancing groups, musical groups/bands, animal
groups and mascots.  The parade, a SEAFAIR event, will also feature SEAFAIR
royalty and marshals.  Parade length is just under ½ mile.  The parade route
goes along 78th Avenue SE between SE 27th Street and Mercerdale Park.
