TECH PROGRAMS:
MOVIE MAKING: Hollywood here you come! For those aspiring film makers, this
course will introduce you to the basics of Video Productions! We'll cover
the basic controls of a mini-DV camera to the final editing and presentation
of your end product at the Digital Arts Festival. This is the perfect course
for those if you movie makers!!
Instructor: Emmy nominated Instructor Matthew Franco has taught digital arts
for many years. He is a free lance photographer and loves teaching media
literacy to youth!
Mondays & Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00pm starting on March 19th through April
26th!
Grade: 2nd-5th
Cost: $75
Film Festival will be in June, all finished productions will be show cased
in this Red Carpet event!
Introduction to Digital Photography! In this course Matthew Franco will
teach you the ins & outs of digital photography! From the standard point and
shoot camera to the advanced SLR (single lens reflex) camera, you'll be able
to inspire your friends with the best picture taking abilities! Members will
also learn how to import their pictures to the latest and greatest digital
soft where, where they can manipulate the photos to become what ever their
imagination comes up with!

Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 pm
Cost: $50 (includes snack & photo supplies)

We will show case our photos at the Red Carpet Film Festival.
DANCE & Music Programs!
Swing into Salsa: You've seen dancing with stars, now it's time to try it
for yourself! Social dance is a life skill you wont ever regret learning. In
this 6 week series, we will learn Swing & Salsa, as well as the basics of
dancing to any music. Swing is an up beat and energetic dance. you will
learn how to dance to popular and classic high energy music. Knowing these
fun dance moves will allow you to turn and swing to the rhythm with or
without a partner!!
Instructor: Sara has taught Ballroom dance for the past 9 years. Her
experience includes teaching at the Dance Club, Century Ballroom & public &
private schools across Washington!
Cost: $75 for 6 week session!
Grade: 2nd-5th
Saturdays from 4:00-5:00pm - Starting March 17th through May 28th Please
dress in comfortable clothing and don't forget your water bottle!!
GUITAR BASICS This class introduces basic cords, note reading and popular
songs. It is recommended that students bring a 1/2 or 3/4 size acoustic
guitar (an electric guitar and small amp is also fine.) book will be
provided!
Instructor: Music Works in Bellevue is coming to the Island!! Join us for
professional guitar lesions with instructor Brendan Boswoth! Brendan has a
Jazz Performance Minor, form Carnegie Mellon University. Studied with Joe
Megri and Eric Kloss. He has taught in the Seattle Area for 7 years.
Saturdays from 1:00-1:55pm
Age: For youth 11 and under!
Cost: $210 Six week session!!
Art Workshops:
Print Making: We will explore the art of print making in this 2 week
workshop designed to teach the basics of print making! We will start with
styrofoam & string prints and finish with carving in soft linoleum! Members
will leave with many beautiful prints & their own t-shirt!
Grade: 2nd-5th grade
Cost: $10 per session (Snack & Supplies provided!)
March 8th & 15th from 4:00-5:30
Jewelry 101: Do you have your own fashion and want to create some jewelry to
jazz it up? Than this is the course for you! You can join us for one day or
all three as we create our own jewelry! Members will learn how to coordinate
colors, shape & size of beads and finish with some spectacular jewelry
including; earrings, necklaces & bracelets!
Grade: 2nd -5th grade
Cost: $15 per session
Wednesday March 7th from 3:45-5:00
Wednesday March 28th from 3:45-5:00
Transportation provided by Mercer Island School District Transportation AND
Van pick up from St. Monica's!
