Dear St. Monica School Families,

 

As noted in this week's St. Monica School Newsletter, this year we will
begin each week during the school year with attendance at the Monday morning
Parish 8 AM Mass. It has long been a goal of the school community to have
St. Monica School students attend Mass more frequently than just our first
Friday Masses. Beginning the week in prayer together with the parish is both
a privilege and a community building opportunity for us as a Catholic
school. We appreciate your support of this important regular opportunity for
prayer and celebration of the Eucharist.

 

It is understood that some carpools may find it difficult to meet this
expectation. It is also understood that there will be days when others have
various conflicts making it impossible to get to Mass on time or at all. As
we have done in the past to accommodate these situations, supervision of
students will be provided in the school library for anyone arriving at
school after 8:10 AM. As usual, students will not be marked tardy unless
they arrive at school after the 8:30 AM bell.

 

No judgment or penalty if it doesn't work for your family. Just do the best
you can.that's all we ever ask. :-)

 

(On weeks when we are not in school on Mondays, such as Veteran's Day and
M.L.King Day, we will not attend a parish morning Mass.)

 

We would like parents to attend Mass whenever possible with their children
on these Mondays, but it is understood that this is not always convenient.
Our only expectation is that if students are dropped off at Mass that they
are mindful of being on their best behavior.

Teachers and other faculty members will be in attendance at these Monday
morning Masses to help supervise the students.
